BRAND & TALENT MANAGEMENT:
Work with head of branding & director of operations to develop the overall talent brand marketing strategy for the talent that is assigned to you.
Provide custom branding solutions for each managed athlete or creative, driving ongoing creative design/visibility and execution.
Work alongside CEO Jamie Smith on contract negotiations & athlete agreements. Attending meetings with potential clients. Coordinate meetings, attend meetings & notetaking.
Propose & initiate potential business endorsements/sponsorships for assigned talent. Foster internal & external relationships understanding the vision of each talent assigned. Build & maintain relationships with talent & current/future business clients.
Manage communication of product sponsorships, endorsements, and branded collaboration with internal/external partners.
This internship focuses on day-to-day talent management, brand management, pitching clients for sponsorships/endorsements, market research, fostering relationships and more. Those interested must be detail-oriented, interested in sports/entertainment, and have a grasp on what goes into negotiating deals & managing stakeholder relationships.
Negotiate Contracts and Other Deals
Act as an assisting representative for BrxndMe CEO & athlete’s when negotiating a new contract, contract extensions, or endorsement signings. Review market trends and the latest contract signings, assist in making offers and counteroffers, and explain contract details to players while keeping BrxndMe & athlete’s best interests in focus.
Oversee Player Marketing and Promotional Strategies
Manage the marketing and promotion of clients. Supply news outlets with positive behaviors and acts exhibited by their clients and maintain “damage control” when any negative actions are displayed by the talent you are assigned.
Assess New Talent
Involved in assessing new talent by viewing collegiate games and contacting players seeking representation. Willingness to practice technique such as cold-calling and referral systems when scouting for new clients. Willingness to use personal relationships & personal network to sign new talent.
ATHLETE PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
Organize goal setting, planning, and performance management for each managed athlete
Individually access and evaluate each managed athlete's career plan and professional surroundings (trainers, coaches, agent, family, other team managers, terrain, off/on season, equipment, and innovations)
Ensure each managed athlete is knowledgeable about product usage and the brand
Recognize/evaluate athlete performance problems and propose solutions or termination plans.
Qualifications:
· Time management skills – Talent Rep (interns) must have the ability to work odd hours. Timeliness is expected (5mins early for meetings).
· Sports knowledge – Strong knowledge of the sports for which their clients play, as this knowledge can be drawn on when negotiating contracts or building client relationships
· Brand Management – Understand branding & marketing on behalf of BrxndMe & clients.
· Negotiation skills –Must be able to make both demands and concessions that are in BrxndMe & their clients’ best interests
· Communication – the ability to communicate through both the written and spoken word is essential for talent agents when dealing with players, lawyers, team owners, and companies seeking endorsements
· Analytical skills –Able to analyze contract specifics, endorsement deals, and other documents pertaining to their clients’ finances
· Interpersonal skills – Should be a “people person”; the ability to talk to everyone from high-profile players and wealthy business owners to college players and other agents is crucial for success in this field
· Multi-tasking – handling various clients at different stages of contract negotiations and seeking new clients calls for talent brand agent to regularly display multi-tasking skills
Interns are expected to:
• Commit to an internship of at least 6 months;
• Work a minimum of 15 hours/week;
• Be punctual, respectful, and personable;
• Put forth an effort to look presentable in meetings
